New York is an interesting place. With three teams in the NHL, who does one root for?
It mainly goes by geography, with the New York Ranger fans coming from the city and upstate. The New York Islanders have their fan base on Long Island, which is where the New York Jets fans come from, and the New Jersey Devils come from, obviously, New Jersey.
Although the Islander and Devil tickets are readily available, New York Ranger tickets are tougher to come by since all the games at Madison Square Garden are sold out. It’s like trying to get tickets to a New York Jets game or trying to see Gang Green up north and getting New England Patriots tickets [while you are in Boston, you can get some Red Sox tickets]. And now that the New York Giants are champs, it makes it even harder to go to a Big Blue event.
But hockey is not like football. With 82 games in total and rivalry games with the other two area teams, it’s easy for a fan to take in a game, just like back in the day in baseball when Mets tickets were easily acquired.
Yet, New York is more than sports and if you want to take in a play, it’s easy to find Broadway tickets, especially Wicked musical tickets. And the city is a great place for concerts with inexpensive Jimmy Buffett tickets, Celine Dion concert , and Allman Brothers tickets.
With so much to do, no wonder why hockey tickets are easily available.
